Bats are a living flying miracle of creation.
There are over 2,000 species of bats. They have such highly specialised component organs, that would make it impossible for them to have evolved. They are the only flying mammals on earth.
In general, there a two main types of bats …megabats and microbats. Generally, Megabats eat fruit and microbats tend to eat insects. Some bats can eat, fish. Others can eat frogs, birds, spiders, lizards, and other mammals. The golden-tipped bat can even pluck spiders straight from their webs!
Microbats, like the Common Sheath-Tail Microbat (Taphoxous Georgianus), shown in this video, are simply extraordinary in their created design and capabilities.
Sheath-Tail Microbats, are insectivores. They live off insects and help to keep the natural harmony of creation in balance. There are over 70 different varieties of these specialist microbats in Australia, alone.
A Myotis microbat has been recorded capturing 1,200 tiny fruit flies in one hour! That’s one every 3 seconds, while navigating in the air at speeds of up to 50km per hour and foraging up to 15 kilometres from their cave roosts. (Micro bats: The Insect Terminators, p2. – Qld Dept Environment and Resource Management (EPA).
Microbats in Australia, mate in late August and early September, springtime, after semi-hibernating during the drier winter period. They give birth in November.
How could they evolve? Even their knees face outward and bend backwards, instead of forwards as in other mammals. They are called Chiroptera, which means “hand-wing”. God has designed their wing membranes of very soft pliable skin, which is even able to repair itself if punctured.
They also have a useful thumb-hook on the main bent portion of their wings for moving quickly on cave rock faces, grooming and clinging to roosts, while they rest.
Why do they hang upside down? Because, their design capabilities and wing to body ratio, make it more useful to hang upside down for take-off and landing. They have been created with very special tendons in their feet to assist them in clinging to objects without any effort.
Mind you, they do hang right side up, by their special wing-hooks when they give birth or go to the toilet.
There is an irreducible complexity about the design of bats. If you were to take even one component part away from them, they could not live.
The remarkable peculiarity about bats, which sets their creation off from all other mammals is their unique, very complicated “sonar” system. They fly by ear and guide themselves by the echoes of their highly pitched squeaks. This remarkable sensitively designed system is called “echolation”.
Bats emit a pulse of sounds, normally at frequencies beyond our range of hearing. Their sound waves are created in the bat’s voice box, and are emitted from the mouth or the nostrils. They bounce sound waves off objects and analyse the echo. This is how they sense their environment and find their prey. So, they are not just God-designed stud fighter pilots but they are astronomical electronic engineers as well.
The complicated flaps of skin around the nostrils of some bats, and strangely designed structures in their ears, are for the protection and reception of sound waves of ultra high frequency, upon the principles we call “sonar”. When the bat is foraging for food it echo-locates to find a mosquito or moth. As it bears down on its prey it produces what is called a feeding buzz. With this series of pulses or clicks some bats can give off up to 200 pulses per second. Not only does the bat emit ultra sonic pulses but the ears are, in essence, opening and closing 200 times per second as well!
Bats can emit bursts of sound of frequencies up to 32,000 per second! Much higher than a human ear can detect. These airborne waves bounce back from obstacles, that are picked up by the super-sensitive ears of the bat in flight. So accurately attuned is this God-created system, that the bats can quickly dart and change course to avoid objects and to snap up hundreds of insects in a single feeding session.
Bats easily find insects in night’s pitch darkness, even when the insects emit no sound that can be heard by human ears. Impressively, in using their echo-location, they can detect their targets unerringly, in spite of loud noises or jamming. They have a truly remarkably God designed discriminator …as an acoustic or audio engineer would say.
With and auditory system that weighs only a fraction of a gram, and in the midst of a great volume of surrounding noises, a bat can distinguish its own signals, even though they are 2,000 times fainter than the background noises! Think about it …and the original sound emitted by the bat cannot even be heard by the human ear.
Ounce for ounce and watt for watt, bats amazing sonar system is billions of times more efficient and more sensitive than the radars and sonars contrived by mankind.
“I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are Your works; and that my life knows right well. (Psalm 139:14)
Some bats live off nectar and pollen with amazingly designed elongated muzzles and very long tongues, sometimes with a brush at the tips of their tongues, ideally designed for their type of feeding.
Possibly the most surprising bat is the species that feed on fish. They have a God given well developed system of frequency modulated sonar. But, since sound loses much of its energy in passing from air into water and vice versa, the big puzzle is: how can these bats locate fish underwater by means of this system?
Then there are the infamous Vampire Bats of tropical America. They live from sucking blood from living animals. They sneak up on their victims and with their incredibly designed sharp, narrow teeth blades they cut the skin without waking or paining their host. The sucked-up blood via piston like movement of its tongue, is able to be digested in its perfectly designed folded tube, especially for that purpose.
Oldest Bat Fossil - Icaronycteris
The oldest known bat fossils are Icaronycteris, Archaeonycteris, Palaeochiropteryx and Hassianycteris, which are said to be fifty million years old, and of the Eocene age. Some might imagine a prehistoric bat to be a grotesque saber-toothed blood-sucking monster. In reality, what we see in the fossil record are bats fundamentally indistinguishable from today’s bats. These bats had all the remarkable features we see today.
“The fossil record gives us no clues about the evolution of bats. Bat fossils are rare because the small bones do not preserve well and the oldest fossil bats (51 million years old) were already fully-formed bats very little different to modern species.” (Australian Bats – 2nd, Edition, Page 12, Sue Churchill)
Some Evolutionist’s marvel and are baffled by the fact that in 50 million years bats have remained unchanged. Now if evolution occurs, or has occurred, then wouldn’t you think that in such a long time span we would see some notable changes in bats, or creatures becoming bats …and vice versa …but we don’t.
Wouldn’t you expect to see tree shrews or other “mice-like” creatures evolving in to bats? But we don’t.
Bat fossil - Hassianycteris
If evolution has occurred we would also expect to find an ancestral or transitional fossil form. However, in the fossil record we find no such transitional forms linking, for instance, a shrew to a bat. In fact we find nothing that resembles or comes close to an ancestor of a bat.
Evolutionists are getting so desperate to try to find something about the purported evolution of bats that they are even suggesting that they evolved from the same stock as whales, horses and cattle. Can you imagine that? Bizarre!
In the fossil record there exist no transitional forms of any creatures. The fossil record simply confirms what the Bible teaches. In the fossil record we find fully formed animals as described in the Genesis account of creation. Then God saw everything that He had made and indeed it was very good. (Genesis 1:31). God created each animal in its own right. Sure, we get different types of whales …but we certainly don’t get whales genetically becoming bats …or vice versa.
Also, many people don’t understand that there were two main earthly creations.
The first creation was the pre-Adamic creation we know as the age of the reptilian dinosaurs (millions of years ago), managed by Lucifer and his angels. They rebelled in a huge devastating galactic war, which suddenly destroyed the prehistoric dinosaur world. Lucifer became Satan and his angels became demons.
The second creation was the Adamic mammalian creation, which included the creation of man and woman (around 6,000 years ago), with the “spirit in man”, which gives us our intelligence abilities and makes us different from animals.
Evolutionists are baffled about the variety of bats and the wide differences in their feeding, body makeup, and capabilities.

They imagine that bats evolved from tree shrews (Scandentia), colugos (Dermoptera) and the mice-like primates of Archonta, but if so, where are the intermediary forms? There are none in existence nor are there any in the fossil records. There are no examples of “mice-like” creatures with quarter or one or two wings, trying to fly or developing sophisticated sonar, etc,.
You know, it is quite a jump from mice’s feet to bats’ wings, and from ordinary ears and nostrils to the intricate radar/sonar detection system that bats have.
Long ago evolutionists gave up on the false Lamarckian theory of “acquired characters”.
It has been proved abundantly that there is no such thing as “acquired characteristics”, that Lamarck supposed in his fanciful imagination.
He taught that “an animal which acquired a characteristic would transmit it to its progeny”, and so the offspring would get not only inherited characteristics but also “acquired” characteristics.
Nice try Lamarck, and it fooled a lot of people for awhile, even to this day, but was a larrikin Lamarck lie.
Mind you, had Lamarck read his Bible he would have seen Jeremiah’s common sense, practical wisdom in his inspired words: “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? (Jeremiah 13:23). No, of course not. We cannot change the colour of our skin, just by thinking about it and nor can any animal such as a leopard change its spots by thinking it would like to acquire a non-spotted body.
Jesus Christ emphasised that we cannot even make one hair black or white simply by thinking about acquiring it: …”because you cannot make one hair white or black.” (Matthew 6:36)

So, to suggest that some ancient mouse one day, was tip-toeing through the tulips, imagining itself to be a flying bat with wings without feathers and a sonar/radar system so advanced that even humans can’t come anywhere near close in emulating, and actually did so …is actually a very funny joke …but is not sane credible science!
Darwin taught evolutionary development through the blind-pseudo-god of “natural selection” and contemporaneous philosopher Herbert Spencer, taught “survival of the fittest”, which seemed to fit nicely with Darwin’s theory. Unfortunately, this philosophy led to governmental “social engineering”, with its worst expressions promoted through Hitler and Stalin and other despots, to this day.
Darwin’s false theory purported, that in the struggle for existence, needed and useful variations remained and variations that proved weak or useless, perished. But this procedure produces only variations of already existing “characters”. It never produces new characters (organs, organisms).
Nor does the more recent theory of “sudden changes” by “random mutations” solve the problem for evolutionists. Mutations are comparatively minor and mostly inferior or debilitating to the creature. It can in no way produce “new characters” (organisms). For example, in laboratory experiments they tampered with the genes to make a 4 winged fruit fly, but the only problem was that those 4 winged flies died, because they couldn’t fly! Bats, like the tiny Sheath-Tail microbat, are just one of zillions of living and non-living things that reveal God the Father and Jesus Christ as the great Designer, Engineer, Creator, Lifegiver, Lawgiver, Sustainer of all that exists, including you and me.
Yes God’s creation of the extraordinary variety of bats in all their complexity and brilliantly engineered capabilities, truly batter evolutionary theory.
Do you see any mice evolving into bats these days? Have you heard of any mice developing bat wings without feathers? No, of course you haven’t.
One of the sad things about the teaching of evolution is that it is thrust upon children, about the time they are being taught about “Santa Claus” and the “Tooth Fairy” and other false philosophies. They are then at their most gullible age. School curricula leave out teaching anything, such as how God created all things.
Creation science, about how the universe and earth was created zillions of years ago and how there was an initial creation of prehistoric animals, prior to the re-creation and production of mankind, is not taught.
No one is shown in the Bible about the destruction of the reptilian prehistoric world by the battle between Lucifer and his rebellious angels against God and His faithful angels. The mayhem of that huge battle buried the prehistoric world, which forms the coal, oil, and natural gas that we mine today.
No one is taught in school about the coming of the mammalian Adamic creation on a much smaller scale than the prehistoric world, with its plethora of amazing creatures, like the microbats as shown in this article and videos.
Let’s ask some basic scientific questions about bats that evolution cannot answer.
Knowing that bats can eat up to 1200 mosquitoes in one hour we have to ask some basic questions.
- Let’s say that a mouse is running out of food and decides to change its digestive tract, grow wings and catch mosquitoes at the prodigious rate of 1200 per hour. How does it do that? Lamarckian Theory has been proved false, so it can’t do it that way. Genetically, to transform into a flying mouse would take so much of a genome change as to make it nothing like a mouse. It would have to be so perfect in all aspects, otherwise, it would die. Is there any evidence of mice-like creatures sprouting quarter or half or whole bat wings? No. None in the fossil records and none doing it today. There is an irreducible complexity about a bat, that if you take even one vital component part away, it would die, because all component parts rely on each other for the bat to function;
- How did bats ever come up with the idea of a sophisticated sonar system, that is light years better than anything mankind has ever devised? Evolutionists have no evidence of how that happened. Before any ancient bat could catch any tiny insect in the dark of night it had to be able to echolate. Without its highly sensitive navigation, seek-and-destroy sonar, it would have starved to death;
- How did the purported evolutionary genome transition take place, when there is no evidence of it in past fossil records nor in current “mouse-like” populations? Imagine the first mouse-like creature that has had an incredible genome makeover, flying without its absolutely precise sonar system. It sends out its first furtive impulse sounds, but too late! Schkrunch!! It hits a nasty out-jutting rock and drops dead. We have to wait another quad-zillion years for the next genome freak to arrive on the scene …but, again with similar devastating consequences;
- It is one thing for a bat to be able to send out around 200 very high 30,000hz+ impulse sounds, but how did it evolve those ears, so quickly and alter its extraordinarily sensitive auditory nervous system and brain to be able to receive, filter, and interpret those faint return impulses, which are lower than the background noise decibels? Evolution has no factual answer. How did it avoid confusing its shouting from its echoes, and pass all of that on to its progeny, for countless generations?
- When did a bat decide to hang upside down rather than right side up, and then somehow transfer those weird thoughts to its genetical makeup? There are no fossil records of such transitional bats. How did they, at the same time, develop those amazing special tendons so that they never get tired of hanging upside down? And why doesn’t their blood rush to their heads upside down and give them splitting migraine headaches or disorientation?
- How did so many different divergent types of bats with such huge differences in food preferences, evolve? Bats specialise in such foods as fruit, mosquitoes, moths and other tiny insects, fish, spiders, blood, other bats, frogs, and even scorpions. How come? Again, no factual evidence from Evolutionists. Just wild, imaginative speculation.
Even the simple life forms have component parts that make them irreducibly complex, let alone the intricate, inexplicable, inter-dependent, detailed functioning processes, organs, and sophisticated systems in a bat.
Each minute or larger part of an animal’s bodily system depends on another part, and if one component is removed from that system it cannot function. Micro bats prove that point, dramatically.
For the invisible things about God can be understood, by studying the magnificent, inter-dependent creation that God has made. God has revealed Himself, and can be clearly seen and understood by the amazing things, both living and non-living that He has made. (Romans 1:20)
God is the awesome designer, engineer, creator, life-giver, lawgiver, sustainer, intelligence of the universe and Maker of all living and non-living things.
No wonder the Bible witnesses against evolutionary theory: “The fool has said in his heart, There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1, Psalm 53:1)
Why make a monkey of yourself, before God, by having blind faith in evolution, that cannot save you nor offer you eternal life, at either the coming First or Second Resurrection, into the Family of God?
